Sentenced delayed so car thief can watch big match

A car thief has had his sentencing delayed so he can watch Rangers in Europe.

Alexander McLeod admitted taking a car and driving without a licence when he appeared in court yesterday.

The 17-year-old, of Shettleston, Glasgow, was ordered to return on 8 March to discover his fate. His lawyer later came back into the courtroom after McLeod"s mother told him her son was due to be in Spain that day to watch Rangers play Villareal.

Sheriff John Newall agreed to adjourn the sentencing until McLeod had returned.
